Everyone encounters challenges in their lives than can feel isolating. However, this does not have to be the case. I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside you and provide you with support. My goal is to support you in achieving your goals in a safe, therapeutic environment that we create together. I use a holistic approach in which we examine your life through a variety of lenses. As a biracial individual, I strive to create a space that is affirming for all folx. In therapy, I incorporate the unique diversity you bring as it relates to your culture, ethnic/racial background, sexuality, and the gender spectrum. We will work collaboratively to help identify the best strategies to meet your personal goals. In my work, I incorporate principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), caregiver-centered approaches, attachment theory, psychoeducation, trauma-informed care, expressive arts therapy, and play therapy. Ultimately, I value providing care that is consistent with your needs and am committed to exploring new approaches that best meet them.

I believe that therapy is a unique and sacred space where the client can speak freely and honestly about the things they care about and would like to see improve. I believe the client is the expert on their own life and experiences. As a therapist, I will strive to create a brave space where the client is able to feel heard, supported, and empowered to tackle life’s challenges. I believe in a systems perspective, and see individuals not simply as an individual, but as part of a larger system. I like to involve the family system when appropriate. Attachment theory plays an important role in how I view others. I will engage clients in a strengths-based approach through the theory of Emotionally Focused Therapy and use Child Centered Play Therapy for younger children. I am also trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I see clients of all ages. I respect and affirm people of all sexualities, genders, and races.

I believe that we all hold within us the power and ability to meet any challenges we experience in life. As a therapist, I work to cultivate a space in which clients can experience a nonjudgmental, accepting and insightful therapeutic environment. I value client autonomy and believe each individual and family know themselves best. I work collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths and abilities as well as how to employ these to incite the positive changes clients would like to see in themselves and their lives. My approach is client-centered with a trauma-focused lens. I also incorporate self-compassion practices, mindfulness-based techniques, somatic-techniques and psychoeducation regularly into my practice. I seek to create a space that is affirming and inclusive to all cultures, sexualities, and genders. We all have the capacity to obtain growth and healing in our lives, and while change may feel daunting at times, I am here to navigate that journey with clients one step at a time.

As a therapist, I strive to walk with those I serve in recognizing their unique strengths and supporting them in navigating life’s challenges. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is one in which trust is key to the success of treatment. I take a relational approach to each client I serve and believe all are deserving of a safe space to speak freely and without judgment. As experts in their own journey, I encourage clients to identify areas of their life where they would like to see positive change, work with them to set goals, and support them in their walk toward a deeper understanding of themselves. I use a strengths-based perspective when working with individuals, children, and families. I believe it is important to recognize the systems in place which influence the thoughts and behaviors of those experiencing challenges. In working with children and adults I like to incorporate elements of play therapy, attachment theory, and narrative therapy. I recognize the dignity and worth of those I serve and seek to provide a welcoming therapeutic environment for clients from all backgrounds.
