I believe we all come to therapy with our own experiences, specific set of needs and strengths. Therefore, therapy should provide a variety of services that acknowledge the individual experience to meet the needs and strengths of the individual and family. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bushnell University. I specialize in early childhood, complex trauma and behavioral health needs. I primarily work with children 0-18 and their families. I utilize a variety of approaches including but not limited to play-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and attachment-based therapy. When working with young children, family therapy is essential to success by creating the systematic change fundamental for therapeutic growth of both the individual and family. I am honored to work with my clients and be present for their successes and struggles, to build a brave space together to meet each person where they are at. I am blessed to have the opportunity to stand beside them in their person growth journey.

It is my strong belief that our mental health is just as important as our physical health. Mental and physical health go hand in hand. My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to come and know that they can talk about anything and be heard, respected, and supported. I also believe that the client is the expert in their own lives, feelings, and experiences, and by working together, I can provide a new perspective and knowledge on mental health and well-being. My techniques are focused on brain-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with aspects of Person-Centered Therapy. I also facilitate BRITE (Building Resilience for Individuals through Trauma Education) that is a trauma focused group. I understand the neuroscience on how our brains work, and how the working of our brains affects our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physical health. With psychoeducation, I believe that the client can learn and be empowered to make informed decisions to be able to take action towards creating a healthier and happier self.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe in a strengths approach that takes into consideration an individual’s existing strengths, abilities, and potential for positive personal growth. I believe that we all have the power and ability to continue to learn, change, and grow throughout our life span and such growth happens when we allow ourselves to become more mindful of our own developed thought processes and their connection to our personal life experiences. I believe that we are all influenced and affected by the many systems we are connected to in our daily lives (i.e.,: family, community, school, culture, etc.) and that these system experiences help shape our cognitions and beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us. I see therapy as a collaborative process where your goals and objectives toward improvement are based on your identified needs, respect you as the expert on your own life, and harness your identified personal strengths and abilities.

I hold a master’s degree in couples and family therapy from the University of Oregon. I work with individuals, couples, and families, combining systemic-relational perspectives with psychodynamic ones. I explore with clients their concerns in the context of their relationships and the various aspects of society at large. I think the way we feel, the way we think about ourselves and others, and what we do are equally important areas to work on in therapy. My goal is to assist clients to find their own pathways to their own new solutions.

I am deeply passionate about what I do with children and their families. It's a privilege to sit in a room or play with another human being and have them share with you their suffering, their joy, their anger, their confusion, their sorrow, and their successes. I strongly believe that mental health is essential to a person’s well-being, a healthy family, interpersonal relationships, and the ability and possibility to live a full and productive life. I see the therapy room as a safe space, where one can truly be themselves, with no judgement, no criticism, only understanding and support. It is my job to know your story, understand your perspective, and guide you and your families with keeping their best interest always in mind. I approach therapy with my empathy and optimism being my foundational pillars.
