In my work with individuals and couples I believe that my clients are the experts on their own lives, and I'm an expert in helping people heal and grow. I approach therapeutic work from a strengths-based, relational perspective, recognizing that therapy is a cooperative endeavor. I specialize in helping people process and heal from complex trauma, PTSD, and moral injury, with a special focus on survivors of spiritual abuse, sex trafficking, and involvement in high control groups. The main therapy models I work from are Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT).

I believe human beings have the ability to grow and evolve in ways that enable them to better accept past challenges, more effectively navigate present experiences, and cultivate fundamentally healthy futures. Underpinning this belief is my faith in collaborative therapy as an effective tool for accessing that ability and for empowering clients to live meaningful lives aligned with their own strengths and values. As a therapist, my approach to using that tool is an integrative one infused with psychodynamic, humanistic, and behavioral principles. My goal in our shared work will be to support you in exploring who you have been, who you are, and who you aspire to become. Through such exploration, I am confident that your personal path to authentic self-understanding and sustainable well-being can be found.

I believe that every individual is deserving of an abundant life. The families we are born into, the families we create, the communities we live in, and other life circumstances sometimes make it hard to be at peace and achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves. Time with a counselor can help individuals hear their inner voice, gain the strength needed to make course corrections, and restore the sense of joy and purpose that are sometimes lacking in our daily lives. In our work together, I will be using a person-centered approach to connect with you, and techniques from several evidence-based practices to help you achieve your definition of wellness.

I am a Professional Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I aim to provide a safe, consistent space to build trust and collaborate with clients to meet their desired mental health goals. Art therapy engages the mind, body, and spirit in integrative ways that are distinct from verbal articulation alone. No client needs to be an “artist” to engage-- often it works out better if one is not! In our work together we may use any media you are comfortable trying out, which could be as simple as collecting leaves or making slime. We can also just do talk therapy if you prefer. My prior experience includes providing individual and group support to children, teens, adults and families in various settings including a retirement center, children’s hospital, children’s day treatment, and as a school-based counselor with Native youth. I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach tailored to each client.
